Akpodiete to Champion Human-AI Integration At Human Capital Development Programme

Artificial Intelligence expert and digital transformation strategist, Prof. Alexander Akpodiete, is set to advocate the integration of human intelligence and artificial intelligence as a critical strategy for enhancing decision-making and building resilient organisations in the digital age.

Prof Akpodiete will deliver a featured presentation at the Mandatory Talent Development Programme of the Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria (CIHCDN) in Abuja, where he will also be inducted as a Fellow of the Institute (F.HCD).

Speaking ahead of the event, he said that the accelerating pace of technological innovation is redefining the workplace and compelling organisations to rethink how decisions are made, talent is developed and leadership is exercised.

His presentation, titled “Human Intelligence + Artificial Intelligence: Optimizing Strategic Decision-Making in the Modern Workplace,” will examine the evolving relationship between human capabilities and emerging technologies, with a focus on how organisations can leverage both to achieve sustainable growth.

According to Akpodiete, “The future will belong not to humans or artificial intelligence alone, but to institutions that successfully combine the strengths of both in addressing complex organisational challenges.

He explained that the session would explore key issues including human-AI collaboration, strategic decision-making in the AI era, AI governance and responsible adoption, workforce transformation and the future skills required for a rapidly changing economy.”

The professor also underscored the importance of ethical leadership and organisational resilience, disclosing that the deployment of artificial intelligence must be guided by transparency, accountability and a strong commitment to human values.

He observed that as businesses and institutions increasingly adopt AI-powered systems, there is a growing need for frameworks that ensure technology serves as an enabler of human potential rather than a substitute for it.

Akpodiete further stressed the importance of preparing the workforce for emerging realities through continuous learning, digital literacy and skills development initiatives that align with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He said the Abuja gathering would provide an opportunity for professionals, executives, educators and policymakers to exchange ideas on the future of human capital development and the responsible use of technology.

The event is expected to bring together stakeholders from across sectors to discuss innovative approaches to talent management, leadership development and organisational transformation in an increasingly technology-driven world.

For Akpodiete, the challenge before organisations is not whether to adopt artificial intelligence, but how to combine it effectively with human wisdom, creativity and ethical judgment to drive long-term success. the challenge before organisations is not whether to adopt artificial intelligence, but how to combine it effectively with human wisdom, creativity and ethical judgment to drive long-term success.
